Remember the Ladies
The New York Historical Society
This bicentennial exhibit was designed to travel to six museums around the U.S. including the New-York Historical Society; the High Museum, Atlanta; The Corcoran Gallery, Washington D.C.; and the Pilgrim Hall Museum, Plymouth MA.
A first at the time, costumed mannequins travelled with the exhibit while dressed in period artifacts.
Lighting designer Paul Marantz created custom fixtures that clamped onto the portable exhibit walls so that dramatic lighting could be consistent at each location.
Each section begins with a contemporary photograph taken to create a dramatic setting for the content.
